Where to See Fireworks in Chautauqua By Kim Sabshin |
| |
The Fourth of July is almost here, and warm weather is here along with everything else that it brings with it. Whether you enjoy barbecues, time spent with family and friends, or just relaxing after a long week at work, almost everyone can find common ground in one enduring tradition: fireworks. Here are some great places to see fireworks if you’ll be in Chautauqua this Independence Day.
Chautauqua County July 4TH Celebration 2009: The Town of Chautauqua and the Village of Mayville will host Fourth of July Events on Saturday in Mayville, including a parade, carnival festivities and kiddy rides, and live music. The fireworks start at 10pm, and the best place to see them is from Lakeside Park infield, facing the road.
Here are other good places to see fireworks in Erie County, Chautauqua County, and northern Pennsylvania:
Downtown Buffalo: Saturday at dusk, at the Erie Canal Harbor Fourth of July celebration. Festivities begin at 5pm.
Dunkirk: Saturday at dusk, at Dunkirk City Hall.
Erie: Saturday at 9:45pm (Boom Over the Bay), in Presque Isle Bay.
Findley Lake: Saturday at dusk. Festivities include a chicken barbecue and a boat parade.
Friendship Festival: Friday at dusk, in Riverside Park.
Harborcreek: Saturday at dusk, at Iroquois High School. Festivities will take place throughout the day in Lawrence Park.
Olean: Saturday at dusk, at Bradner Stadium. The stadium gates open at 5:30pm.
Orchard Park: Saturday at 9:45pm, at Orchard Park High School.
Silver Creek: Saturday at dusk, in George Borello Park.
