Active Artists Alliance Show In Wright Gallery Provided by The Arts Council for Chautauqua County |
| |
The Wright Gallery kicks off 2010 with a new partnership and fresh artwork.
"Brand New Work For A Brand New Decade", a collection of art from
members of Active Artists Alliance, opens on Saturday January 16 at 6pm with a public
reception. A preview of the show will be open to the community during the
"Doors Open" event in Jamestown between 12pm and 5pm. The show will run
through February.
Featuring the work of Casey Brink, David Grice, Angela Caley and Bill
Thomas, the new exhibit is the result of a partnership between the Arts
Council For Chautauqua County and The Active Artists Alliance. Together,
these organizations will co-manage the gallery and share responsibilities
including booking, outreach, development and more.
The rest of the year will see exhibitions by Jamie Pirrello (March, April),
Judith Guild (May/June) and the return of John Pearson (July, August). The
fall will find the Wright Gallery expanding to include a juried art show and
a sale in time for the holidays.
The Wright Gallery, located at 116 East Third Street in Jamestown, remains
committed to exhibiting the work of local and regional artists. Those
interested in exhibiting should contact Len Barry at 716-664-2465, extension
209.
The Wright Gallery season is made possible by support from the New York
State Council On The Arts' State and Local Partnership funding. Gallery
hours are 9am until 5pm, Monday through Friday and by special appointment.
