Arts Council Presents Exhibition And Workshop  |

Jamestown area artist, Jamie Pirrello, brings his art work to the Wright
Gallery in "Power Of The Subconscious Mind". The show opens on March 15 and
runs through April 24. In this show, geometrical and abstract figures
abound in oil collages. Recently, he has shown in Erie at Clayspace and in
Jamestown at Forte Restaurant. In July he is scheduled to show at Portage
Hill Gallery.
A native of Erie, Pennsylvania, Pirrello has lived and worked in Jamestown
for the past decade.
The Wright Gallery at the Reg Lenna Civic Center (116 East Third Street in
Jamestown) is open to the public between 9am and 5pm most weekdays.
Award winning teacher and founding member of the band Rusted Root Jim
Donovan returns to Jamestown to host the Rhythm Renewal Drumming Workshop on
Friday March 19 at 7pm at the Reg Lenna Civic Center 116 East 3rd Street in
Jamestown
During the event Donovan will conduct a workshop titled ³The Rhythm Renewal
Drumming Workshop² which will feature participants learning rhythms, songs,
chants and concepts from Africa, Brazil and the Caribbean.
Anyone regardless of musical experience will enjoy and benefit from this
experience. Donovan provides a large selection of authentic African drums
called djembes for participants to use during the workshop. Additional

The event is open to anyone over the age of 17 regardless of prior drumming
experience and advance registration is strongly suggested. Anyone wishing
