Obama Rips Health Insurance Companies
(Glenside, PA) -- President Obama is turning up the heat on health insurance companies and Congress. Speaking at a rally in Pennsylvania, Obama criticized health insurance companies for soaring premiums and for denying coverage to people with pre-existing conditions. He also accused insurers of putting profits before patients. Obama pushed Congress to finalize healthcare reform in the coming weeks. The President contended Washington is obsessed with the "sport of politics" and he challenged the Democratic-controlled Congress to ignore the DC "echo chamber" and finish healthcare reform. Obama asked, "How much higher do premiums have to rise before we do something about it?" The President accused Republicans of doing nothing about the growing healthcare crisis when they were in control of Congress and the White House. Obama said, quote, "You had ten years; what happened, what were you doing?" |
